BENEFITING FROM A VERY 'OFF BEATEN PATH' EXPERIENCE
for a French musician-
Family expatriated to the US, a childhood and adolescence marked by an exploration of the southern states,cradle of 'Afro American Music'. A few years later, Yann moves to Mississippi and here is where his true vocation is revealed, when he starts jaming with local musicians who are quick to show their enthusiasm and support.
IN ADDITION TO HIS WORK as a Soul Music song writer, Yann Cole has always played the music of the 50's & 60's which is an important part of his musical inspiration. Indeed, he often pays tribute to Ray Charles, Louis Jordan, Wynnonie Harris, BB King & the music of New Orleans where Swing, Blues, Gospel Music and Early R&B have been mixed in a great musical gumbo for almost a century. For the last 3 years YANN has also been playing with the band Big Dez in different European countries.
